One of the best hidden and Less visited than the national parks in the north and the south parks provide a sense of African adventure unmatched anywhere else on the continent. The program includes one of the country’s untouched and authentic remote wilderness areas.
Nyerere National Park – formally known as Selous Game Reserve, is the largest park in Tanzania. It has the most extensive diversity of safari activities ranging from Authentic Boat Safari along the Great Rufiji River, walking and compliment classic game driving in thriving wildlife areas which is the home to the rare African hunting dogs.
Ruaha National Park – is the second-largest park, and It is one of the few of Tanzania’s famous wilderness areas, whereby the experience of game viewing is spiced up by the exciting landscape and its Great Ruaha River as well as high concentration of elephants, big cats and the rare African hunting dogs.

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve
This morning, you will start your safari in Dar es Salaam for your light aircraft flight to the Selous, one of Africa’s most significant game reserves. You will be staying in the heart of the core game-viewing area of Selous.
On arrival at the Airstrip in Selous Game Reserve, you will be met by the driver guide, briefing information and game drive you back to camp or lodge. Relax and immerse in your new surroundings before enjoying a delicious, fresh lunch in a beautiful shady spot your camp offers.
There is time to relax for a couple of hours after lunch before departing on an afternoon boat safari. The boat safari is superb in the afternoon, watching wildlife come to the water’s edge to drink and getting close to bird colonies, hippos and crocodiles.
You can also enjoy a spot of catch-and-release fishing and the spectacular sundown—dinner and overnight at Roho Ya Selous.
Day 2 & 3: Selous Game Reserve
Your days on safari offer plenty of flexibility, with a range of safari activities to choose from each morning and afternoon. Game drives are the best way to travel further afield and see some more giant game, including the predators – the Selous is home to the largest population of wild dogs in Africa, which are a real highlight if you are lucky enough to encounter a pack.
Full day game drives with picnic lunches or a relaxed lunch in camp with an afternoon game drive. Before the end of the day, you will return to the camp and spend the time relaxing in the swimming pool, evening dinner and overnight at Roho Ya Selous.
Day 4: Selous Game Reserve to Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, depart with your guide to the Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Msembe Airstrip in Ruaha National Park. On arrival at Msembe Airstrip, you will be met by a driver-guide.
Before heading on a game drive en route to the lodge, a brief introduction to the surrounding area. Once at camp, you will have the opportunity to relax and familiarise yourself.
In the afternoon, you have the opportunity to head out on an afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle. Then, as evening approaches, it’s time to return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Jabali Ridge.
Day 5 & 6: Ruaha National Park
Deliciously morning breakfast, followed by options for a full day of game drives with picnic lunches or a relaxed lunch in camp with an afternoon game drive.
Regardless of sharing vehicles on a Game Package basis, the lodge will do everything to ensure that your ideal structure is met. Ruaha is a perfect place for spotting wilderness and scenic beauty. The evening will be spent at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Jabali Ridge.
Day 7: Ruaha National Park to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, pack your bags and say your farewells as you depart for Msembe Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Dar es Salaam Airport. Wave goodbye to Ruaha and enjoy an en-route game drive to the Airstrip.

Roho ya Selous
Roho ya Selous sits in the very heart of Nyerere National Park (formerly The Selous), a stone’s throw from a palm-fringed tributary of Tanzania’s Rufiji River.
Set on a small peninsula, Roho ya Selous overlooks a key waterway linking Lake Manze to Lake Nzerakera, in the heart of the core game-viewing area of The Selous. This comfortable and stylish camp offers game drives, walking safaris, boating, and catch-and-release fishing and is ideal for exploring this diverse and beautiful reserve.
Relax in open-sided, canvas-roofed dining or lounge areas while reading a book or watching the wildlife around the lake. In the afternoons, take a dip in the pool to stay calm. Jabali Ridge
Jabali Ridge is a stylish camp in the wildlife-rich Ruaha National Park, set on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Mwagusi River and Ikuka escarpment.
Perched on a rocky outcrop in one of the park’s best locations, Jabali Ridge is a sophisticated retreat with spectacular views of riverbeds studded with spiky palms and baobabs.
Jabali Ridge’s eight suites are set among giant granite boulders. Relax in the hammock on your wooden deck and unwind with a book.
