Nyerere National Park – formally known as Selous Game Reserve
Nyerere National Park – formally known as Selous Game Reserve A newly established Park is part of what is known as Selous Game Reserve. Founded in 2019 and covering over 30,000 square kilometres, now the largest National Park in Africa.
The park boasts Tanzania’s largest elephant population and many lions, leopards, African hunting dogs, buffaloes, and hippos. Species commonly seen are bushbucks, red and blue duikers, elands, hartebeests, hyenas, giraffes, reedbucks, impalas, waterbucks and zebras.
Itinerary:
Zanzibar – Selous – Zanzibar
Departure from Zanzibar airport at 07h00, arrive in Selous Mtemere Airstrip at 08h00; received by our safari guide. Immediately you will start a safari game drive, sightseeing the game in the park, driving through the savannah and along the river and lakes. Picnic lunch at lunchtime in a stunning location with a clear view of the park.
Then proceed with your journey exploring the African bushes before returning to the airstrip at around 16h00 for your scheduled flight back to Zanzibar.
