10 Days Great Predators Camping Safari
Day 1: DAR ES SALAAM – SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Pick up from Airport or Hotel in Dar es Salaam, and begin drive down south of Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve, the drive shall take 4 to 5 hours. You will arrive in time for lunch, at around 16h00 in the evening depart for adventurous and romantic evening sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River to spotting hippos, crocodiles and birds, and enjoying the spectacular sundown. Diner and overnight at Tagalala Campsite.
Day 2 & 3: SELOUS GAME RESERVE
After early breakfast depart for full day game drive in a 4×4 modified safari vehicle with a professional guide, in the Selous Game Reserve exploring the game in the surrounding areas, from your seat on an open-roofed vehicle, a comfortable and privileged journey through the wild African bush. You may expect to see any of the major African great favorite mammals, including elephant, giraffes, lions, buffalo, zebra and even the rare African Wild Dog, picnic lunch shall be provided in the mid-day where by your guide will select a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink – a place with a clear view all round so that no predator can creep up hidden.
Before end of the day return to the lodge and the rest of the evening will be spent at your own leisure Diner and overnight at Tagalala Campsite.
Day 4: SELOUS GAME RESERVE – MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
After early morning breakfast we will leave Selous with a picnic lunch to enjoy on our a game drive on the way to Mikumi National Park which is nestled between the Uluguru Mountains to the northeast, and the Rubeho Mountains, Udzungwa Mountains and Rift Valley escarpment to the southwest. Dinner and overnight at Public Campsite.
Day 5: MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK – RUAHA NATIONAL PARK
Morning game drive in Mikumi, the depart to Ruaha National Park. From Mikumi the road ascent along the Great Ruaha River up on the high plateau where the city Iringa is situated. Stop in Iringa for lunch then proceed to Ruaha arrives late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Public Campsite.
Day 6 & 7: RUAHA NATIONAL PARK
One full day game driving with picnic lunches, Ruaha has an area of 10,300sq.km, and is the largest park, and second largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania. The great Ruaha River that flows along its entire eastern border creates spectacular gorges and scenery, and features a large number of hippos and crocodiles. The wide variety of animals that inhabit the park include both Greater and Lesser Kudu, roan and sable antelope. Dinner and overnight at Public Campsite.
Day 8: RUAHA NATIONAL PARK – UDZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK
After morning breakfast depart to Udzungwa National park via Iringa town where you will stop for lunch before proceeding to Udzungwa Forest Camp for dinner and overnight at Public Campsite.
Day 9: UDZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK
After morning breakfast, you will go into Udzungwa National park to hike in the Udzungwa Mountains sighting waterfalls and swim in the cool water hole at the base of the falls. Later in the afternoon you will walk back the Camp or lodge for dinner and overnight at Public Campsite.
Day 10: UDZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK – DAR ES SALAAM
After enjoying your breakfast in the morning, drive back to Dar es Salaam for the drop off at your Hotel or airport.
